The members of Safe House , Tammy Shaw, and her two daughters, Kristen Richardson, and Kimberly Kammerer, have always sung together as a family, and written various songs over the years. But in 2005 they decided to become an official singing group (with name and all) and put what they believe God has called them to do to work. Since then Safe House has kept busy, singing in area churches, as well as, working toward making their first music cd. Now that the project is complete, they are busy with concerts and singing engagements, endeavoring to shine the light of the gospel of Jesus Christ to a lost and dying world, and bringing comfort and healing to the body of Christ through their music and testimony.
Tammy is the high soprano in the group, singing mostly harmony and, occasionally, lead. She is a song writer who has written music since the early eighties and contributed several songs to Safe House's recent CD project.
The mother of three and grandmother of eleven, she takes pride in her close knit family. She is the mother of the other two band members and, being a lifelong dream, feels blessed to be singing together with them for the Lord at this time.
Tammy has served the Lord for over 30 years, and her love for God and His Word can be felt in her ministering in both word and song as the group performs. She is presently active at her local church in the Sunday School department (teaching the youth class) and in the Music department (praise singing, singing in the choir, and an occasional soloist).
Kristen sings mostly harmony in the group, as well, with an occasional solo. She is a gifted singer with a vocal range that rivals the other two group members. Her talents have added to the groups soothing, angelic sound, making her the glue that makes the groups harmony what it is today.
A stay-at-home mother of three who says her children are her world, she has some college classes under her belt and plans to return to college in the future, but is happy, for now, to be "a keeper of the home", doing what she feels the Lord has called her to do.
Kristen's shy demeanor masks a heart that desires to serve the Lord in whatever capacity the Lord sees fit. After leaving the group for a short period of time, she is happy to be back and is committed to using her talents to edify God's people. Kristen is also active in her local church in the music department as praise singer, soloist, and choir member.
Kimberly is the lead singer of the group, whose strong vocals, vivacious personality, and dynamic stage presence help to add an entertainment quality to the group that would be lacking otherwise. She is also a songwriter who wrote several songs for the new project, as well.
A wife and mother of three, Kimberly is presently a full time college student, working toward finishing her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Music degree. She has been an assistant elementary school teacher for several years, but felt a burden to go back to school so she could go into the field of Music Therapy for special needs children.
Kimberly is active in her local church with the children, doing everything from Sunday School teacher and childrens' choir leader, to VBS music and youth mime director. She is also active in the church's adult choir, a praise singer, and a soloist.
